A GAGGLE OF GEISHA -- Kimonos and Faces from Old Meiji-Era Japan, originally uploaded by Okinawa Soba.
Besides having some nice, rich tones, this 100-year-old hand colored collotype photo has a slightly shallow depth of field that throws our fine group of ladies into softness as we move toward the back. Nice kimonos for sure --- and a wide range of expressions and feeling being shown here.
As I'm a bit burned out after writing the last caption, I will turn this one over to all you flickr nuts who like to paste your ridiculous notes all over these pictures.
As I am one of those nuts, I already added my own note.
Now it's your turn. Pick your girl (including mine), and have fun.
