&#39;Fight the Good Fight&#39; aims to train women to win life&#39;s battles.

The event aims to help busy women meet home, family, work and community demands.

Organizers of the retreat say being successful is a struggle, and women must train, practice and participate in life -- then they must leave the results up to God.

Susan Fisher is the director of women's ministry for Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Ala. She has helped with that ministry's leadership since 1999 and on staff since 2003. She works with a team of nine lay coordinators seeking God's will for the women in Frazer and the community.

Fisher is a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising. She spent over 18 years in the retail industry as an executive with Gayfers/Dillards department stores. She has extensive training and experience in leadership, management, and human resources.

Mary Winkler is a member of Aubur n United Methodist Church in Alabama, where she has been active in the youth and college ministries. As a youth volunteer, Winkler has participated in numerous youth retreats and mission trips to Venezuela, Haiti, West Virginia, Ecuador, Mexico and Panama.

After becoming a Christian more than 20 years ago during a Precept Bible study in Knoxville, Tenn., Winkler has led a women's group in Auburn for over 20 years.

Early registration is $15 and will be due by July 16. General registration is $20. Scholarships are available. Registrations and payments may be dropped off at the church office or mailed to Women's Ministry, FUMC, 214 S. Partin Drive, Niceville, FL 32578. That is also the venue.
